Littlest One

This is the little sister of the cutie in the red tie and tennis shoes. She is such a doll and has the biggest and bluest eyes that she keeps wide open. She looks like a little pixie to me. I love this age, they are such good sports and don't move too much. (hint hint to anyone who has babies that need their pictures taken ;) )

Gorgeous skin tones! The expression in the last one is too precious. Love it!

I agree with the first comment. Did you use an action on her skin? How do you get the pictures so brite using natural light or were those taken with a speed light?

i use a skin softening action to get it creamy but i didn't have to do it too much on these because her skin was so smooth. i didn't use a speedlite for these, it was all natural light. The sun was shinning through the window so i just had to pull her back into the shadow so it wasn't directly on her. My settings were iso 400, f 2.8 and ss 250-320.

Thank you for answering my questions! I didn't realize you pull them back into the shadow...I have tried and tried with natural light but can't seem to get it. =( I am usually in apeture mode because I am still just starting out, my iso is at 400, my pictures just seem dull and dark compared to yours. Do you save them as a web image? Anyway, sorry for all the questions....I just admire your work and hope someday mine can look as good as yours! Just a though...I live where it is overcast 90% of the time, does that have to do with the lack of "light"?

overcast days can make a difference, though you just have to raise your iso. this can be tricky because if you don't get the exposure right they will be really grainy. but they can look just as bright and pretty as these. The post of the little 2 month old further down with the cute stripes were taken at iso 800. I also highly recommend Phaunt's actions, you can get to her actions to the right, i have them linked. She has a great action called sunshine in your hands that is awesome, i'm not sure if she calls it that anymore maybe email her about it. also, learning how to remove noise and soften skin will help out a lot.

I love the processing on the second photo, where she's on her tummy. Did you use an overlay or a brush? It's just stunning. Great job as always on these photos

Andrea :)

it is an overlay and i just adjusted the opacity to blend it in.

Would you be willing to post a before and after picture of your work? I just need to see if I am really off on my natural light stuff or do I need to practice more in PS.
