Splurge

Every since Clara was born it has been hard for me to buy clothes for myself, mainly because I'm not the size I used to be, I'm not really fond of the styles lately and let's face it, clothes for babies are so much more fun to buy. When I do buy clothes for myself they are always on clearance. I'll spend $30 dollars on a bunch of stuff that I kind of like instead of buying that 1 cute sweater that I really love. Silly isn't it? Well, my terrifically awesome husband decided to surprise me with a gift card to the Gap that we got from our Discover rewards points. I didn't even know we had any! That shows how wonderful he is, he could have used it for something he wanted but he instead got it for me! He made me promise I wouldn't use it on Clara, though I told myself if I couldn't find anything for me, I would get her that adorable dress I want to get her for Christmas. When I was getting all dressed up to go shopping, I realized how much I don't like my jeans. I have like 20 pairs of 10 dollar jeans! I hate buying jeans... shoes too.... I think those should be cheapest articles of clothing because they are necessities. I was having a hard time finding anything so I decided I would try on a couple pairs of jeans. I'm so glad I did. I keep telling myself I wont buy any new pants until I lose more weight but I found the most perfect pair of jeans that actually fit and I didn't have to go up a size, they fit perfectly! I really need to break the habit of spending a lot of money on average stuff and save up and splurge on the nicer things that last longer. So I finally have a nice pair of jeans and of course I had to buy a shirt and sweater to complete the outfit.

I know what you mean! What style are those jeans? I've got to try some. That's one thing that always makes me feel good....having a nice pair of jeans.

The best feeling after having a baby is finally fitting into something that you "used" to wear or at least the same size. It takes me FOREVER to lose baby weight all the way. Congrats on the fun shopping!

Good for you! I shop for clothes the exact same way! I rarely splurge for something nice, but I should do that more often because I usually buy conservative styles that won't go out of style by next year. I buy mostly from Kohl's, Old Navy, and Target. But I haven't bought anything new for myself in over a year! Like you said, it's much more fun to buy baby clothes!

I'm happy for you and jealous, but mostly sad that I didn't get to go shopping with you! You need to take a picture of the clothes ON YOU! And if it helps I've lost 35lbs this year, and would still LOVE to be your size!!!! You've got a great figure!

Ahh to be the size I was before babies...I wish! I'm so glad that you found great clothes and not just some random pieces but a whole outfit. Jealous! Isn't it funny how the right clothes make you feel so much better? Robert deserves a high five for that one...(I knew that I taught that kid well :) J/K I've gotta give the credit to his mamma on that one.)

The jeans and shirt look really cute in the picture. I don't know if I am capable of buying an article of clothing unless it is on sale or the regular price is below $20. It would be so smart to save for things that I would really like!
