It's Time For Change

Clara is growing so fast and is learning so many new things so quickly!! She has started to "crawl" (She gets up on her knees, moves a little and then lunges forward, and repeats), she has learned how to pull herself up on short objects (like the stairs) and has learned to move herself along couches, tables, her crib.... many things. So we have had to take some precautions to keep her from hurting herself, namely moving her crib mattress down so she doesn't go head first out the side. She doesn't seem to mind, I think she likes the challenge. She's also learned how to sit herself up which makes it difficult for her to fall asleep because once you put her in her crib she just sits up and cries. The other day at my mom's, she had fallen asleep while sitting up and face planted into a pile of blankets. It was really funny but probably couldn't have been comfortable. She sure is a funny girl.

Oh Adam

Yesterday we had the pleasure to be re-acquainted with an old friend from college... when I say we, I mean Larissa and I. Our dear friend Adam P-fost, what can I say, he's a riot. Though our spouses were there, I'm sure they would have had a better time doing something else as we were reminiscing on good ol' days at the Glenwood, dead fish, and interesting roommates. Needless to say, we had a great time. It really made me miss college though I wouldn't trade my family for anything in the world. I just want all my friends to move here so we can do stuff and have fun. It's so hard to make friends like the ones I had at BYU.

Over Grown Backyard

It's been a very rainy season here in Texas and a very busy time for both Robert and me. Naturally little things like the lawn being mowed don't get done as often as they should. I'm afraid of tall grass, I hate bugs and all things creepy crawly but I decided to brave the yard and let Clara play with the flowers, she LOVES it. She likes to pull off their peddles and luckily this time she didn't try and eat them. You can hardly tell this is a backyard, it looks like a field on the side of the road or something. I think it's time to cut the grass.

Evening At The Park

After a long day of work and not very long to play, Robert, Clara and I decided a nice walk would really help to unwind the day. We set off down the street and didn't get very far before we thought it would be fun to stop at the park. They even had a little swing for Clara. She had the greatest time in that swing, I have never seen her smile so big or cry so loud when we took her out. So we put her back in and let her have some more fun. Robert was having the funnest time pushing her and making her laugh. He's such a terrific dad. I can tell by the look in Clara's eyes how much she loves him.

Mother's Day

I hope everyone's was really special!! Robert was such a sweetheart and tried really hard for it to be very special. He bought me my favorite flowers and wrote me a love note. Then he made me breakfast and gave me some sweet gifts from him and Clara. It was really special. I love my family very much. And I am especially grateful for my wonderful mother who does so much for me!! And let's not forget my awesome Mother-in-law who treats me like I was her own and raised such a terrific son. I'm grateful for all the wonderful mothers in my life!

Majestic

As Robert and I were driving down the road, I luckily had my camera handy with me in the front seat, I never do when I actually want it! As we were driving these beautiful clouds were billowing in the sky as a storm was approaching. I thought it was the most beautiful sight. There's just so must majesty in the sky and if you know me you know that I love a good storm not just because they are thrilling but because they produce beautiful moments like this.

Sleeping Beauty

I got a new lens for my birthday and I wanted to try it out but Clara was asleep. So I thought "what would be cuter than a sleeping baby shot?" So i creep into her room and this is what I find. She has been doing the funniest things in her sleep and moves to the funnest positions!! We have to check her before we go to bed every night just to make sure she's not hanging out of the crib!! She's so funny!!!

Newborn

I haven't had the opportunity to take pictures of any newborns since I didn't get my camera till 4 months after Clara was born so it was a definite learning experience. I loved it!! She was so adorable and they just lay there while they let you move them how ever you want to!! I look forward to doing many more, they are just so precious!

Think Inside The Box

Surprisingly Clara enjoyed being inside this box, she was rocking it almost like she was trying to get it to fall over and then she kept trying to eat it.

My Sister & Her Friend

I did a quick shoot practicing on my sister and her friend. They are so silly together and my sister is a goofball. She always gives me this look like "you're so weird". Which is true but she has a look for it rather than just telling me like everyone else. I love that she is back, I've missed her so much!!.... and I like you too Mandy....
