So Christmas is over but I couldn't resist taking these pictures. Robert got some nice boxes from work so I set up a little studio for Clara. I was playing with my new lens, I love it!!! It has that nice fuzy background that looks so cool!! Clara also learned a new trick, thanks to Grandma Bell, and likes to spit at everyone. I cought a good spitter mid-air! :)
This was Clara's first Christmas. It was so neat to think back that this time last year I was wanting a little baby so badly I could hardly stand it!! A whole year flew buy and here she is!! She is such a joy in our lives and just gets cutter every day. We had a really great Christmas. We spent the morning exchanging our family gifts then went to my parent's house to exchange gifts and talk to my sister Melanie. It was fun to talk to her though we almost missed it. Then we went to Robert's family and had dinner and exchanged gifts over there. It was a nice relaxing Christmas and it is sad that it is all over. But I look forward to the new year and playing with my new lens :) MERRY CHRISTMAS!
This year we had Christmas Eve at my mom's house. We usually have it at my Patterson grandparent's house but this year was a special year and my Bell grandparents were in town; this Christmas was Mom's Christmas. We had a really great time and the kids even performed a cute little nativity. I really have the greatest family ever. It has been so neat to have my grandparent's here and for them to spend time with Clara. I know she loves them because she just smiles so big at them. It was a terrific night.
My family had our annual Christmas cookie making party/exchange. It was at my mom's cousin's house this year. She has a terrific house, nice and big for all the people. It was funny watching the kids sit down and cut cookies or decorate them but they only stayed interested for a couple minutes. I think they had fun though. I know I can remember all the many many cookie parties at Grandma Bell's. We've been doing this for years and it is a fun and yummy tradition!!
Clara had her first taste of solid food!! She did so good and she really loved it. She has done really well with it the past few days. Hopefully it will help her sleep better at night and keep her full longer. I was scared to give her food cuz I didn't know how to do it but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Last night my mom was over and told me that she used to stick our hair straight up and give us the "whoop-dee-doo" or whatever she called it so I thought i would give it a try!!! She looks good!!
She also has gotten really good at grabbing toys. This is her concentrating really hard on it! I thought it was really funny.
Yesterday Clara was being kind of a pill and being really fussy and fiesty. I decided to take her for a walk to help calm her down. Well, she ended up falling to sleep almost the second I walked out the door so I had a nice stroll. When we got home she just woke up and Robert came and got her and she was being so cute and cuddley! It was so adorable, she never does that!!! Those are the moments you certainly do cherish.
... NEVER!!! In Texas that will never happen though one can wish. Last week it was in the 70s and 80s. Clara and I had fun playing outside. She really liked the swing though she doesn't look like she in enjoying it, I promise she did. :) Ah, Texas winters, they only come one day a year.
I had my first photoshoot that wasn't Clara. I did Christmas pictures for my brother's kids. They are such cute kids but man, it is though getting 3 kids to all look at the camera, smile, and sit up straight is tough!!! They are so cute though and really loved having their pictures taken.
Poor little Clara has been so sick this week. The doctor thinks its Rotavirus but no matter what it is it has been miserable for us all. I feel so bad for her. I never wanted to be so sick for someone else in my life. I guess that comes with being a mother. She is slowly getting better and each day is a triumph when she doesn't puke on us. Hopefully she'll make it through. Even when she is sick though, she's still so happy and so cute!!
Clara is just getting cutter and cutter everyday. She has started sucking on her two fingers and likes to scream a lot. I can't believe she was born just about 4 months ago. She has such a personality - sassy might I add - for someone so tiny! I love everything about her. I can't wait to see how much more she'll do but at the same time it's sad to see her grow!!
Ok so it wasn't her wedding but it was her wedding shower!!! This was a stressful shower because she invited so many people and I was hosting it!! I have only thrown one other shower in my life and it was a baby shower so I was completely freaked out about it. Luckily I had the help of great people who got a lot done. All in all it turned out great and I hope she was satisfied. Though, who cares what the shower was like check out all her gifts!!!!! Love you Larissa!!!!
