It took us a while, but we finally got our Christmas tree up and decorated. It is quite pretty. It was hard for us to find a place for it because our little house is kind of crowded but I think it works out well. I'm so glad my mom started an ornament collection for me or else my tree would be bare!! I love this time of year, its so cozy and festive.
So winter's in Texas are really weird; they generally last only about 1 day a year. This winter came rather early. I love this weather and it really help to convince me to want to move up north. It's so fun to actually have cold and snowy weather on or around Christmas. Too bad I work part time because they closed down my work. Oh well, It was fun to be home and stuck in doors all day though we gave Clara her first taste of the "snow".
Today was little Miss Clara Belle's blessing. She was so beautiful, she looked just like an angel. My wonderful Mother made Clara the most beautiful blessing dress which was such a special thing because I know how hard it was for her to do and how many obsticals she had to overcome. But it was fabulous. It was so special to have so many friends and family there. We are truly blessed to know so many great people. I know that Clara was born into a tremendous family and I know for certain that she will always know she is loved. I'm so grateful for her in my life and for the opportunity Heavenly Father has given Robert and me to raise her and help her to return back to heaven. I love my family so much and I love this gospel so much. I know that this blessing will help to strengthen her in this life.
Today Robert and I went to a tree farm with his Brother Doug and his Wife Chelsea and there 2 kids Coen and Emma. It was a beautiful day - I hate to say unfortunately but I like cold weather - and we had a really great time. That place is really neat, it's so small townish but it is only 35 miles from Dallas. We took a while to find the right tree but we finally found it and it was really beautiful. We are hoping to make this a family tradition; it is our 2nd year. This year we got to share the fun with Clara. I love Christmas time.
This year's Thanksgiving was really great. My Grandparents from New York were here which made it really special but for some reason the food was exceptionally good this year - which didn't help my diet. Everyone did so well on their individual dishes that it made it a fabulous feast. It was really fun getting to spend all day with the family. We had a nice breakfast with Robert's family and then went to my parent's house for the turkey dinner. Robert smoked a turkey and it was the best turkey I've ever had. It was so much fun. I love family and traditions and the two together are extra special.
I feel sorry for poor little Clara because ever since I got my new camera every day has been a photo shoot for her. She is so cute I just can't help it!! She is such a good sport about it too, especially yesterday. She had just ate and just woken up from a 3 hour nap so she was really happy. She is the best baby ever!!
Today was a fun day, I spent most of the day getting to spend time with my mom and my Grandma. My mom and I made jam and my grandma helped watch Clara. My mom makes the best jam in the world and it is really fun to get to help her with it. She even lets me take a bunch of jars even though she paid for everything :) She loves me. We had a really fun time and I love getting to spend time with her and I know she loves when we come over because she loves to see her granddaughter.
